The Beach, Maya Bay

Our main reason for visiting Koh Phi Phi was to make the journey to Maya Beach. Maya Beach lies in a protected bay on a small island just several kilometers south of Koh Phi Phi. The beach is one of most beautiful beaches we had the chance to visit on this journey. It was also made famous in the movie "The Beach" starring Leonardo DiCaprio. Picture perfect doesn't even begin to describe the granite cliffs that plunge into the turquoise crystal clear waters of the Andaman Sea or the powder white sand of the beach that gradually slides into the calm, warm water. Of course after our tour we had to watch the movie and relive some of the moments from our memorable day.
