Hot Spring, Chiang Rai

Winding our way through the mountains on our way to Chiang Rai can be very harrowing with a van driver who is trying to qualify for the Indy 500. Thankfully an hour and a half into our drive we pulled over for a quick break at the Chiang Rai Hot Spring. Our place of rest was basically a Thai style truck stop that boasted of a geothermal hot spring. Whoever built the rest area also had the brilliant idea to cap the spring and use the pressure within to create a fake geyser. A hot spring is cool, but a geyser is way cooler - even though it's a fake. Just a few feet away from the geyser is a hot pool where those who sell hard boiled eggs cook their eggs. After a quick fifteen minute break it was back to the races to Chiang Rai.
